About the Author

Meredith Wild picked up her first romance novel at the tender age of twelve, and shortly after put pen to word processor and made her first attempt at writing a love story inspired by those she so enjoyed reading well past her bedtime.

Her dream of writing took a back seat to college, parenthood and eventually entrepreneurship, which led her into the fast-paced and male-dominated high tech industry.  With enough life experience for a few lifetimes, she now devotes her hours to writing contemporary adult romance, with a hint of kink.

Her debut novel Hardwired tells the story of billionaire bad boy, Blake Landon, and the object of his obsession, strong-willed tech startup CEO, Erica Hathaway.

When she isn’t writing or mothering, Meredith can be found sunbathing with an adult beverage.

“Hey.” He caught my chin, turning me toward him. “I’m proud of you.”

“For what? Roping you in for four million dollars?”

He laughed. “If that was all part of your master plan, then yes, I’m extremely proud, because I never saw that coming.”

I smirked despite myself. I would have done just about anything to avoid taking his money, and he knew it.

“Seriously though, this is a big step. I want you to remember to enjoy the moment.”

And I did just that. Being with Blake made every moment just a little sweeter. A lot sweeter. He gave everything a kind of wonder that made me question how I’d ever survived the tedious existence I called life before he walked in and turned everything upside down.

“I am, thanks to you.” I leaned in closer and met his lips.

He cradled my face in his palm and traced his tongue along my lips, coaxing them open, dipping into my mouth with soft lashes of his tongue.

“Aren’t you going to ask me what’s in the bag?”

I pulled back a fraction, breathless and a little dazed on his taste and scent. Clean, rough, and masculine, uniquely Blake. He turned away and unpacked the contents of the brown bag. He set out a container of strawberries, whipped cream, and a small glass jar of gourmet chocolate sauce.

“What kind of picnic did you have in mind?”

He held up the glass jar. “They drizzle this amazing chocolate sauce on the lattes and confections downstairs. I guess it’s not for sale, but when I politely explained to them that I’d be licking it off your naked body to christen the new office, they finally obliged.”

I giggled and tried to imagine that unlikely conversation between him and Simone. He twisted the lid off and offered it to me. I dipped my finger in the chocolate and then into my mouth. The chocolate coated my tongue, the taste decadent and divine, the experience only heightened by the surety that Blake would be making good on his plans shortly.

“I thought you were opposed to office nooky,” I said.

“This is your office. Different rules.”

“Which I see you’re already making.” I dipped my finger through the chocolate sauce again, but before I could make it to my mouth, Blake pulled it swiftly into his and tongued my fingertip suggestively.

“Take your shirt off and lie down.”

I grinned and rose slowly to my knees, pulling my tank top off. “You’re bossy today.”

He pulled a black silk mask out of the bag and slipped it over my eyes. “It’s not a mood, baby. It’s who I am. You'd do well to remember that.”

Here is an excerpt to get you started!!!!

At the end of the dock, a man dressed in naval attire stood waiting by the plank leading to the yacht.
“Good evening, Mr. Pierce. We’re ready to cast off whenever you are, sir.”
Hudson nodded. “Then let’s go.” He motioned me ahead of him, but I heard the man, whom I assumed was the captain, whispering something else to Hudson behind me.
I stepped off the plank onto the boat deck then looked back to see Hudson’s expression had grown grim.
“I’d rather not cause a scene,” he said, his voice low. “But have the crew keep an eye out for any trouble.”
“Yes, sir.”
Hudson climbed aboard, putting his hand at the small of my back when he’d reached me.
“Is everything okay?”
“Fine.” His tone was terse.
Dammit. Whatever the captain had said to him seemed to have undone the progress I’d made at ridding Hudson of his bad mood.
I knew from experience that pressing the matter would only make him grumpier. But I couldn’t help myself. “Hudson, honesty and transparency…remember?”
He glared at me for a three solid seconds before his features softened. “It’s nothing. An uninvited guest arrived. That’s all.”
I suddenly felt guilty for teasing him about his obligations. Even on a holiday night when he should be enjoying himself, he couldn’t relax. He’d always have to take care of something, manage someone. No wonder these events were such a pain in the ass.
Making up my mind to try to give him the best night possible, I let the subject of the uninvited guest go, even though I was itching to know more of the details. The last thing Hudson needed was me badgering him.
Instead, I worked again to make him more amiable. I leaned into him and whispered, “By the way, I meant to tell you that I got waxed yesterday.” Since he’d been asleep when I got home, I hadn’t gotten a chance to show him. Which was probably best since the recommendation was to wait twenty-four hours after waxing before having sex.
“Waxed?” Hudson said too loudly, his brow furrowed in confusion. Then understanding set in. “Oh.” Immediately his expression lit with interest.
Behind us, a crew member that was helping the captain draw the plank into the ship looked up, obviously also getting my meaning.
Hudson glared at the man, and ushered me further onto the deck with him. “Tell me more.” This time his volume was appropriately quieter.
“I’m talking waxed. Like, all the way. Bare.” Normally, I kept a little more than a landing strip. This was the first time since I’d been with Hudson that I’d gone clean.
Hudson’s eyes narrowed as he adjusted himself. “Are you trying to make this the most uncomfortable night of my life?”
“I was trying to give you something to look forward to, Mr. Grumpy Pants.”
“Mr. Strained Pants, I think you mean.”
I laughed. “Is that going to be a problem?”
“For you.” He pulled me against him so that I could feel his erection against my belly. “It’s going to be a long evening. By the time I finally get to be inside you, I’m going to need to be there for a long time. And I don’t expect that I’ll be able to be gentle.”
Okay, wow. “No complaints here.”
“Good girl.” He stared longingly at my lips, but he didn’t kiss me. Finally, he said, “I’ll try to improve my mood. Let’s go. The sooner the socializing is over, the sooner I can bury my face between your thighs.”
