Shameless Book Con 2017

Hi there!!! I'm a little late in getting this post up, but you know how you leave things for the next day...well that turned into 3 weeks later.

In any event - I was lucky enough to be able to attend the Shameless Book Con in Orlando on October 21, 2017. I must say that I truly did enjoy myself even though I flew solo at the event.

I had general admission ticket and had to join the line, I got there around 11:00am, door were set to open at 12 noon. So although the line was LOOONG - the ladies hosting the event made it entertaining!

I got to meet some of my favorite authors for the first time. -- Such as Suzanne Wright!!!! I was so excited to meet her, I figured I would never get the chance because she lives in the UK. So when I saw that she was attending I was fan girling!!!

She was so funny and nice. Here is one of us -- i'm the write of course and she is the fan!! lol.

Another great author I got meet was Red Phoenix, she was great - and even had her mask on. Best news ever was that I entered her raffle for a basket of goodies and I WON!!!!!  I was so excited that I won - I normally don't enter raffles for things I know I can purchase on my own but the raffle had a beautiful Mardi Gras themed mask - so I entered! Very grateful that Red was doing a raffle. Thank you so much!!!!

Then I made my way around to Kym Grosso who I've been lucky enough to meet before and of course who can forget the handsome Jace!!! These two are so funny - I love seeing them and their interactions. I was also lucky enough to get a free book - which I am grateful for because you know...you can never too many of those.

The last author I met was Meredith Wild, I do believe she hosted the gala that night...I also managed to snag one of her coloring books! Which was great because I do love coloring and even more so when it is from one of your favorite authors!

Not that I think authors visit my page but just in case, I would like to say THANK YOU so much for taking the time to participate in these events. Thank you for taking the time to sign the books AND take pictures. Im sure your hands are sore after these events. To crazy readers like myself - it is such a great feeling when you connect with the author. Even if it's just for a few minutes.

About the Author

Meredith Wild picked up her first romance novel at the tender age of twelve, and shortly after put pen to word processor and made her first attempt at writing a love story inspired by those she so enjoyed reading well past her bedtime.

Her dream of writing took a back seat to college, parenthood and eventually entrepreneurship, which led her into the fast-paced and male-dominated high tech industry.  With enough life experience for a few lifetimes, she now devotes her hours to writing contemporary adult romance, with a hint of kink.

Her debut novel Hardwired tells the story of billionaire bad boy, Blake Landon, and the object of his obsession, strong-willed tech startup CEO, Erica Hathaway.

When she isn’t writing or mothering, Meredith can be found sunbathing with an adult beverage.

HARDPRESSED – EXCERPT TWO

“Hey.” He caught my chin, turning me toward him. “I’m proud of you.”

“For what? Roping you in for four million dollars?”

He laughed. “If that was all part of your master plan, then yes, I’m extremely proud, because I never saw that coming.”

I smirked despite myself. I would have done just about anything to avoid taking his money, and he knew it.

“Seriously though, this is a big step. I want you to remember to enjoy the moment.”

And I did just that. Being with Blake made every moment just a little sweeter. A lot sweeter. He gave everything a kind of wonder that made me question how I’d ever survived the tedious existence I called life before he walked in and turned everything upside down.

“I am, thanks to you.” I leaned in closer and met his lips.

He cradled my face in his palm and traced his tongue along my lips, coaxing them open, dipping into my mouth with soft lashes of his tongue.

“Aren’t you going to ask me what’s in the bag?”

I pulled back a fraction, breathless and a little dazed on his taste and scent. Clean, rough, and masculine, uniquely Blake. He turned away and unpacked the contents of the brown bag. He set out a container of strawberries, whipped cream, and a small glass jar of gourmet chocolate sauce.

“What kind of picnic did you have in mind?”

He held up the glass jar. “They drizzle this amazing chocolate sauce on the lattes and confections downstairs. I guess it’s not for sale, but when I politely explained to them that I’d be licking it off your naked body to christen the new office, they finally obliged.”

I giggled and tried to imagine that unlikely conversation between him and Simone. He twisted the lid off and offered it to me. I dipped my finger in the chocolate and then into my mouth. The chocolate coated my tongue, the taste decadent and divine, the experience only heightened by the surety that Blake would be making good on his plans shortly.

“I thought you were opposed to office nooky,” I said.

“This is your office. Different rules.”

“Which I see you’re already making.” I dipped my finger through the chocolate sauce again, but before I could make it to my mouth, Blake pulled it swiftly into his and tongued my fingertip suggestively.

“Take your shirt off and lie down.”

I grinned and rose slowly to my knees, pulling my tank top off. “You’re bossy today.”

He pulled a black silk mask out of the bag and slipped it over my eyes. “It’s not a mood, baby. It’s who I am. You'd do well to remember that.”
