SHIVER by Suzanne Wright

BLURB:

Kensey Lyons has never had ‘normal’. Instead, she has a mother who lives in her head, a stepfather who’s on death row, and the stigma that comes with being the child of an extramarital affair. Writing has always been her escape. Knowing the reception her books receive will be tainted by her personal life, Kensey secretly writes under a penname when she’s not working part-time at her godmother’s bar. Her world might not be exciting, but she likes it exactly as it is.

When she meets alarmingly compelling businessman Blake Mercier, the snap of attraction is instant. She doesn’t like it. Doesn’t want to be drawn to this man who is blatantly dangerous, carries dark secrets, and lives life by his own rules. Neither of them make a great first impression on the other, so she’s more than surprised when he begins to pursue her with a single-minded focus that is unsettling, thrilling, and infuriating. Her gut tells her to keep her distance, but Blake won’t let her run. Won’t give her space.

There’s another person who won’t give her space. Someone who has discovered the secret of her penname and who seems intent on taunting her. And as Kensey struggles to identify her persecutor, Blake is by her side, determined to keep her safe … because Blake Mercier always holds tight to what’s his. Always.

Lure of Oblivion by Suzanne Wright

Holy smokes, I read this book in about 4 hours because I couldn't put it down. In Lure of Oblivion we get to learn more about Xander, and meet  Gwen to of the most strong willed individuals we have ever met. I love how Xander's wolf doesn't want anything to do with Gwen, which leaves us wondering if they can be true mates. Gwen is hell bent on helping a shifter who was brutally assaulted by a human. Gwen is willingly to testify at the Shifter Council but of course these pesky humans do not want to see that happen.

There are so many good twists in this book - that I was not expecting at all! Suzanne did a great job with the story line. This is book 3 in The Mercury Pack Series, although you can read this one --- it is better if you read the others first. It will give you a good foundation on the history of the pack. I love absolutely LOVE how Suzanne always keeps the other characters relevant in the story line, even ones from The Phoenix Pack. She does not take away from the main characters in the story but as these are wolf shifters and they belong to a pack, it's nice to see the other characters play roles in the story line. Like a true pack!!!

LOVE IT!

Blaze by Suzanne Wright

BLAZE By Suzanne Wright

I was "patiently" awaiting this release. I loved the first book in the series, and the 2nd book did not disappoint. I highly recommend reading the first book Burn, as it will give you the back ground as to Harper and Knox. This is a paranormal read, and not your average shifter story. This series deals with demons, and they don't really play the villains. They are not good but they have their own set of rules and rulers that they follow.

In Blaze we continue with Harper and Knox, it picks up a couple of months where the Burn leaves off. In Blaze Harper's mom is kidnapped by a "rouge demon", as Knox tries to find Harper's mom - new developments come up. We learn about the 4 Horsemen and what kind of role they play in all the troubles that the demons are experiencing. Harper and Knox engage in their first fight. I must say - my heart stopped during their fight. I was not sure what was going to happen, which as a reader I love to experience the unexpected from the author.

Of course much like Burn, Blaze has a bunch of wonderful and hysterical scenes, specially Harper being Harper! I love her form of getting even, what she did to Belinda at the "shindig" was hysterical. Oh and Knox is just cut and dry! He as well as his demon do not care for anyone insulting or hurting Harper, that scene at the shindig with Alethea. It was so embarrassing for the "dolphin"(Alethea). But I really did enjoy how Knox put her in her place.

My favorite quote has to be... "I can be so totally terrifying that I scare even me. Why are you laughing? I'm serious, it's true. You just don't think so because you've never actually seen me that way. If you did, you'd freak out. Really, you would. I'm telling you, fully grown men have run the other way rather than face my when I'm in Berserker mode and - stop laughing!" lol

I really hope we will get to see something happen between Devon and Tanner, who says cats and dogs can't get together!!! The banter between the two of them, has to lead somewhere...please please please!!!!!

I give this 5 stars, there is action, romance, comedy..it has a little bit of everything.

Carnal Secrets - The Phoenix Pack Series by Suzanne Wright

I was so excited when this book went up for pre-order, and then the waiting game almost killed me! I loved the 1st two books in this series, and I truly can't wait for Suzanne to release more.

In the first two books there was a lot of hot sexy scenes, but don't expect that in this one. I understand that the author would need to build the characters though, we wouldn't want Shaya to just jump right into the sac with Nick. So it makes sense that there were not too many hot and dirty scenes like with the first two. Shaya's character I sort of had a love/hate relationship going on with her. I love how strong she was and didn't just give in to the mating urges, but at the same time I hated that she didn't even consider talking to him about why.

I really do hope Suzanne writes more in this series, I would love to read about Dominic, and Derren.

Overall a good book, I know some of the reviews on Amazon are a bit back and forth. I know we all have different taste, etc. So for me, it was a good book. It had me re-reading the previous two books twice each. I just love this series!
